WHAT weighs 1850000kg, costs $40m, took 30 months to build and disappeared in just 10 seconds?
An Iranian engineering structure.
And this isn't a bad joke. It actually happened.
A structure in Iran's South Pars gas field sank into the Persian Gulf in mere seconds, while workers were still on it.
The accident happened on Wednesday but the footage has only just made its way online.
Thankfully none of the workers seen trying to swim to safety were injured, according to local media.

calling for foreign aid to help recover the gas platform which sank 80m
to the seabed, according to Mehr news.
When a passenger of airline Qantas, on the flight to Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea, looked through the window, he is be stunned to see that it is on the wing hooked a big python.
This 9.8-foot (3 meters) python flew from Cairns, Australia, to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, attached to the wing of a Qantas' passenger airplane. Sadly, the poor snake didn't survive the trip, which lasted about 90 minutes. Warning: the video is hard to watch. Viewer discretion is advised.
One of the passengers noticed the python violently shaking on the left wing about ten minutes after takeoff, warning one of the crew members. The flight attendant answer: "you got to be kidding." But she wasn't.
According to Qantas spokesperson Thomas Woodward, "the snake was seen by passengers while the aircraft was cruising. The most likely scenario is that the snake had taken refuge on the exterior of the aircraft overnight."
The snake an Amethystine python didn't survive the hard trip, killed either by the 248mph wind (400km/h) or the 10.4F (-12C) temperatures. When the plane arrived to its destination, the snake was still hanging from the wing, already dead. The passengers were horrified, saying that they "watched the poor thing die."
The plane didn't suffer any damage, landing safely at Port Moresby. After they retired the snake's body and engineers inspected the wing, the Bombardier Q400 was cleared for flight.

Carmelo Anthony couldn’t beat Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics on the court and instead was intent on settling a score in the bowels of Madison Square Garden.
Anthony, according to eyewitnesses interviewed by the Daily News, waited for Garnett near the Celtics bus following Boston’s emotionally charged 102-96 victory on Monday night.

A potentially volatile scene was defused by Garden security personnel, five New York City police officers and even Knicks coach Mike Woodson, who rushed to the scene unfolding near the Garden ramp and ordered Anthony to leave peacefully.
A source on the scene claimed that Garnett seemed somewhat surprised and confused by Anthony’s presence and acted as a peacemaker as Celtics security ushered the All-Star forward onto the bus.
The NBA is certain to investigate the incident, which could result in a suspension and/or fine for both players. But Anthony could be in more trouble since, according to the MSG Network, the All-Star forward initially waited for Garnett outside the Celtics’ locker room immediately after the game ended.
Players and coaches from both sides refused to comment on the scene after the game. Woodson refused to comment before a reporter even finished asking the question. Celtics coach Doc Rivers offered some insight by shrewdly telling reporters, “If it were a playoff I’d tell on him, but since it’s not I’m just going to be quiet.”
Rivers’ answer was a subtle dig at the NBA for suspending point guard Rajon Rondo for one game after the All-Star point guard was cited for making contact with a referee in Saturday’s win at Atlanta.
Anthony was unavailable for comment after the loss. Garnett spoke with reporters before exiting the locker room and encountering Anthony at the bottom of the ramp.
“Yeah, it got intense in the end,” Garnett said of a game that included himself and Anthony each being assessed a double technical for taunting each other. “We just tried to put a hand in (Anthony’s) face. You know, Melo is such a good scorer. We tried to slow him down.”
The Knicks (23-11) hold a six-game lead over the Celtics (17-17) but they became unglued in losing the first of four meetings against their bitter rivals. Anthony had a nightmarish game, shooting 6-for-26, including 2-for-10 in the fourth quarter. He finished with 20 points and five fouls in 37 minutes.
Anthony and Garnett battled in the post on several possessions in the fourth quarter and Anthony put himself in danger of being ejected when he slapped down on the ball after he was called for fouling Garnett. Rivers was clearly upset that Anthony avoided expulsion.
“Melo’s a very fiery guy, believe it or not,” J.R. Smith said. “He doesn’t like to lose and he doesn’t like when people come up in his face. So it is what it is.”
Smith led the Knicks with 24 points and played the last 69 seconds with a deep cut over his right eye after being inadvertently head-butted by Avery Bradley. The cut required 11 stitches to close.
The Knicks blew a 10-point second-half lead to a Boston team that won its third straight. Paul Pierce, a renowned Knicks killer, scored 23 points while Bradley, Rondo’s replacement, scored 13 points and Jeff Green added 16. Amar’e Stoudemire had his best game, scoring 13 points and giving the Knicks quality minutes in the fourth quarter. Tyson Chandler added 13 points and 17 rebounds.
Garnett, the agitator and warrior all rolled into one, had 19 points and 10 rebounds and hit two free throws late to ice the win. Garnett is always active with his hands and mouth and he did just enough to get under Anthony’s skin. In fact, when the buzzer sounded, Anthony turned to the tunnel near the Knicks’ bench and exited rather than cross paths with the Celtics.
Part of the Garden “transformation” includes the home and visiting benches being positioned opposite the tunnels both teams exit, which is a recipe for disaster. When Anthony made the turn toward the Celtics’ tunnel, two Knicks security guards were quick to follow him.
“I’m going to defend Melo and our players and this team,” Woodson said. “In the heat of the battle you’ve got to hang in there and you’ve got to keep playing. We can’t let the officials affect how we play. It was heated both ways. I thought they were a little bit out of control and reaching, too. They made the plays they needed to make to secure the win.”
The last time the Houston Texans faced the Cincinnati Bengals, they clinched their first AFC South title for their first playoff appearance.Houston has not won since. After limping into the playoffs following three straight losses, the Texans host a Bengals team seeking its first postseason victory in 21 years Saturday at Reliant Stadium.
Making just his second career start after Matt Schaub (foot) and Matt Leinart (collarbone) suffered season-ending injuries in consecutive weeks, Texans rookie quarterback T.J. Yates led fourth-quarter scoring drives of 83 and 80 yards, respectively, in a 20-19 come-from-behind victory at Cincinnati on Dec. 11.
His game-winning 6-yard scoring pass to Kevin Walters with six seconds left extended Houston's franchise-record winning streak to seven. It also allowed the Texans (10-6) to celebrate their division title in the locker room after they watched Tennessee lose to New Orleans.
"We were very, very lucky (to defeat the Bengals)," coach Gary Kubiak told the Texans' official website on Tuesday. "We know we won't get away with that type of effort this weekend."
It would be hard to call the Texans lucky with the number of injuries they've overcome this season. Arian Foster was third in the NFL with 1,841 yards from scrimmage, but he missed two games at the beginning of the season with a hamstring injury. Houston has not had All-Pro linebacker Mario Williams (pectoral) in the lineup since October following his season-ending injury, while All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson has played just seven games due to injuries to both hamstrings.
Johnson returned in Sunday's 23-22 loss to the Titans following a three-game absence, but Yates played just one series after suffering a bruised left shoulder when he was sacked on his first snap. Yates, though, is expected to start after backup Jake Delhomme played for the first time since being signed Nov. 29. Kubiak also had a chance to rest many of his regulars last Sunday -- including Foster and tight end Owen Daniels - with the No. 3 seed already clinched, but losing three straight was not how the Texans wanted to head into their first playoff game.
"We're ripping off the rear-view mirror," tight end Joel Dreessen said. "The regular season is over with, and the Texans are officially invited to the postseason. We open up at home, in one week. And that's our focus right now. It's a whole new season, and we have to play at our best."
The Bengals (9-7) have the same approach as they enter the postseason for the third time since 2005, but are looking to advance for the first time since a 41-14 wild-card victory over the Houston Oilers on Jan. 6, 1991. Cincinnati defeated St. Louis and Arizona following last month's loss to Houston, but it needed losses by the New York Jets and Denver last Sunday to clinch the final wild-card spot.
"It's kind of weird," rookie quarterback Andy Dalton said following Sunday's 24-16 loss to AFC North champion Baltimore. "Obviously we didn't get it done today, but we still have a chance."
That chance could largely hinge on how well Dalton - a Pro Bowl first-alternate - and fellow rookie wide receiver A.J. Green can exploit the Texans' second-ranked defense. Dalton, who missed Wednesday's practice due to the flu, threw for 189 yards and a TD last month against Houston, while Green caught five passes for 59 yards.
"(The Dec. 11 loss is) in the back of our mind," Green, the Bengals' first rookie Pro Bowler since 1981, told the team's official website. "We're just going to go out there and play our game. If we stick to our gameplan, I think we have a great chance of winning the game." The Bengals went 0-7 against playoff teams, but six of those losses were by eight or fewer points.
"We definitely haven't played our best game yet," said Dalton, a Texas native who is 3-0 at Reliant Stadium, where he played twice in high school and once while at TCU. "It's what we're working for. We've got to go put it all together and just let it all out. Once we're able to do that, this team can be really good."
However, the Bengals' run defense will have to improve after yielding a season-high 221 yards last Sunday. Foster (1,224) and rookie Ben Tate (942) lead the Texans' second-ranked running attack (153.0 per game).
"Being in a hostile environment, what we've got to do is do our best to stop the run, get the crowd out of it, cause some turnovers and get in the backfield," Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga said.
If Cincinnati can win for the first time in five playoff road games, it will play at No. 1 seed New England next weekend in the divisional round. If Houston wins its fourth straight in this series, it will travel to second-seeded Baltimore.
